Advocacy
A unified voice for Rustic Woods.
One household writing to the city is easy to overlook. A neighborhood association writing together is not. Advocacy is one of the oldest and most important things RWNA does.
Where we focus
Zoning around Rustic Woods
RWNA monitors and responds to zoning cases around the neighborhood, so development nearby respects the character of Rustic Woods and the value of our homes.
Street lighting & sidewalks
The association advocates with the City of Bedford for street lighting and sidewalk improvements that keep our streets safe and walkable.
City & state affairs
RWNA stays actively involved in city and state affairs that affect home values — and keeps residents informed when an issue touches Rustic Woods.
Drainage & creek care
From the Forest Drive stream erosion study to routine creek cleaning and mosquito prevention, the association works to keep water moving and common areas healthy.
See the work
The Forest Drive Stream Erosion Assessment (September 2022) is a recent example of advocacy in action — drainage concerns along the creek between Forest Drive and Cummings Drive were documented and presented to the Bedford City Council. It's available in the Document Center along with past minutes that track each issue.
